Birthday Crop!

Oh it was wonderful!  We were in the Pavillon at Sun-N-Fun Resort and it was a fantastic room.  We were fortunate to have the room set at the perfect temperature and the lighting was right on. It was perfect for scrapping and socializing and eating and scrapping and socializing and eating!  The units we slept in were just the same, clean and very comfortable.  It is rare to have a crop where there are no snags or complaints about something, even minor things.  But we didn't hear anything but wonderful reviews and everyone was happy. Thank you Michelle McGuire once again for finding us our new home for what we hope will be a very long time.

We had just the best time with the best bunch of ladies.  We thank you all for coming and continuing to support Hilltop Memories.  Looking forward to next year!!
 
 
 
 

Thursday - Day 4 - Utah

 
We're up bright and early and heading for another Diners, DriveIns and Dives restaurant - this one is the Blue Plate Diner http://theblueplatediner.com
 
After breakfast we head to the local scrapbook store Heartland Paper in Taylorsville.  There we will be taking the Fairy Couture class.  The class will take about 2 hours and you'll have some additional time to shop.

 
  
From Heartland Paper it will be time for lunch so we're headed to Lone Star Taqueria http://www.lonestartaqueria.com

If we have time after lunch we'll make a stop at the Pink Daisy scrapbook store http://thepinkdaisy.biz/main/ which specializes in pre cut kits.  We've got to be back at the lodge for another class, so if the timing doesn't work out we can return on Saturday.
 
And finally, we head back to the lodge and get ready for a really cool class taught by Margie Romney Aslett of the Girls Paperie.  This class is a garland of your Top 5 favorites - Top 5 of whatever you want (kids, friends, family, colors, foods,work)  It's using her new Girls' Paperie Paper Girl line.  Don't forget to bring your pictures. So very cool. 
 

Once Margie's class is done, we'll break for dinner at our home away from home and then in the evening Penny will teach a short class for us.
 

Utah - Day 3

Wednesday - Day 3
 
We're up bright and early for a class with Sue Neal (www.sueneal.blogspot.com).  Sue is a founding PC Pro PaperCrafts Magazine, and KSL Studio 5 Papercrafting contributor.  She'll be teaching us a class called Envelopements which is cards and a mini album all made out of envelopes.

 
After the class with Sue, we'll be going over to Temple Square.  It's a must see when you go to Salt Lake City.  We'll be there in time to hear the organ recital at 12 noon, and then you can either walk about the grounds or our bus driver will take us around to see and take pictures of some of the sites like the Temple, Lion House, Beehive House, Eagle's Gate, and the Christus Statue.  While were there you should stop and get a bite to eat at Nauvoo.
 
From the Temple Square area, we'll make a stop to see and take pictures of the Olympic Cauldron from the 2002 Winter Olympics which is at the University of Utah Stadium grounds.
 
And finally, we head back to the lodge and get ready for a really cool class taught by Lance Anderson of Rusty Pickle.  This class is called "Panama Jack" and is 3 dimensional with a pop-up tiki.  So very cool.

 
Since we're already at home, we'll have dinner at our home away from home.

Utah - Day 2

Tuesday - Day 2 - BoBunny, and SEI, Oh My
 
This will be our longest day, but well worth it.
 
We'll grab a quick bite to eat at the Beartrap Lodge, then it's off to BoBunny (www.bobunny.com).  We'll get a tour, and there's been a hint of something special they'll have for us.  We don't know if it will be goodies, or a make-n-take, but I'm sure it will be awesome.
 
From BoBunny we will make a stop for lunch at Burger Bar in Roy, Utah.  It's a burger joint that was featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives.  They have burgers and fries and shakes, and if you really want to try something unique, I hear they have buffalo burgers and elk burgers.
 
After our Lunch, we will continue north for a tour of another of our favorite scrapbook brands, SEI (www.shopSEI.com)!  They'll give us a small tour, a goodie bag, we'll get a peek at some of the new releases coming out and then we can stop in the outlet store and do some shopping. 
 
While that may sound like a full day, we've only just begun because right near SEI is the Adornit (www.adornit.com) retail store.  We'll stop for a bit and get some shopping in.
 
And finally, a girls gotta eat, so on the way home, we make a stop at the Red Iguana (www.rediguana.com) another restaurant profiled on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives.  They say this restaurant has "killer" mexican food.  I can't wait to try it.

Overview of the Utah Trip!

First post ... General Things we'll be doing in while in Utah

Here's the general outline of the sites we'll be seeing and the classes and things we'll be doing when we are in Utah this June.  I will post pictures of the classes/events over the course of the next several days.
 
So far we have 18 people going - the lodge we are staying at holds 24, so there is still time to jump on board and join with us.  Don't suffer from "Scrappers Regret" when we get home - this IS one of those once in a lifetime opportunities that you don't want to miss. 
 
Sights We Will See:

--Visit to Pebbles In My Pocket - retail outlet for Pebbles Inc and American Crafts.

Utah Day 1

(Its not to late if for you to join us!!!)

Day 1 - Arrival
 
A rolling stone gathers no moss - or something like that.
We'll be off and running our first evening in Utah.
 
After a quick trip to the grocery store to stock up on necessities (snack food ) we'll stake out our spot in the lodge (http://www.beartraplodge.com).  We're staying in a private home that sleeps 24.  It is in the woods of the Cottonwood Canyon, not far from Solitude mountain ski area.  The lodge has just about everything we need including a large screen 72" TV, pool table, ping pong table, gourmet kitchen (not that we'll be cooking much), sauna, hot tub, fireplaces, campfire area, and high speed internet plus for those of us a little adventurous there are hiking trails literally right outside our door.
 
From the lodge, we'll get off and running to a workshop with glass artist Amber DeBirk (http://urbanscrap.intuitwebsites.com/index.html).  Her studio is in MillCreek and is shared with 15 other artists who reside and work there.  We'll be making a pair of earings and a pendant out of fused glass.  Each one will be unique.  The pieces need to be fired, so we'll either pick them up later in the week, or she will mail them to us.
 
From the workshop we'll need to eat so we'll be stopping at the Porcupine Pub and Grille (http://www.porcupinepub.com/menu/) which is at the base of the Cottonwood Canyon.  The pub has large windows with spectacular views.  They have a wide variety of homemade foods and 24 draft beers including many local brews.  A great place to unwind for the weary travelers. 

 
Tuesday's schedule will be ready tonight.  Look for it!! 

 

Bo Bunny Mamarazzi on its way!

I spent all my money on the kit.  I really wasn't  all that sold on the others,  they looked too much like last years or the year before to me.  So I got the Kits --   
and the  paper packs 
with the album that matches.   I also individual paper packs,  rub ons and stickers.  But I know Typepad will get funky if I list them all right now.  

So they will be in the store as soon as I get a ship date on them.  

7 Gypsies

The Painters Trays are in, in white this time.There are 2 styles, one with room for 9 and one for 6.  Here is the 6    also restocked is the Artsy Canvas Albums in both white and denim  white obviously!
 

New part 2

Donna Salazar papers-  here is one..   You can use paint, ink, smooches, stickles, wax, markers, anything on these papers.  I also got  Crafty Chronicles 
which is slap full of ideas, instructions and possiblities.  Diana has all of this and she will probably be creating all weekend.  I hope she has some good stuff for us to see next week at Sarasota.

 

I must be the most determined person alive this morning

The is the 3rd time I have tried this.  I am not sure what Typepads problem is but I am going to do this in several parts.  You will probably see 3 new posts because its not liking it when I do it all at once.

New Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix Dies arrived yesterday.  It was a partial order and I got the order seperated/shipped/delivered/picked up in no time.  I have a few in the store if anyone didn't pre order. Here is one  The Tim Holtz distress inks are available except for Bungled Sage. It is sold out.  Here is one of my favorites chipped sapphire.
