Lets talk a little bit about Utah and arriving and departing and plane tickets and such. 

We have our Lodge from 1pm Monday to 10a Monday.   I did that because Dawn told me to add Tuesday and Monday was so cheap, well I just did.  Now we have the cabin for the week. 

Plane tickets.  You are going to be buying your own plane ticket.  The price I quoted you of 900-950 included your plane fare.  That was a figure to let you know what we were aiming for.  We will spend around $600 of your money and then you will purchase your plane ticket.  You may have points or credits or whatever.  Not all of us are traveling from Tampa International Airport like me.  They need so much information about you that me purchasing a ticket for each of you would be a nightmare.  And I really don't want to screw all that up!

I am planning to leave on Saturday and fly into Oregon to see my daughter in Portland.  I am going to then go to Utah Sunday or Monday depending when the flights are available. 

You can fly out whenever.  I know we added days but we will still able to accomodate Wednesday arrivals if that is when you have planned to come out.  It is much much easier for me to get away for the entire week now than it was a month ago, so I understand.  And we will schedule a trip to pick up from the airport  if we need to on Wednesday.  Right Dawn??   

As you have probably heard by now Kip and Jill are back with us.  Kip couldn't stand us going somewhere without her.  She was afraid she would miss all the fun. I am thrilled they are going!

More Utah

Let me tell you  this Utah trip is going to be too dang fun!   Dawn and I had talked (a time or 2!) and she said change it to Tuesday instead of Wednesday.  I said ok. When I talked to them I changed it all right, I changed it to Monday.   So now we have our beautiful lodge, that sleeps 24 so comfortably, from 4pm Monday until 10a Monday.  Now hows that for some time to explore  Salt Lake City and surrounding areas??   

Dawn has a spread sheet going.  Well actually more than one.  I know of 2, one for scheduling and one for money.   When I talk to her she drops names like  Archivers, Pebbles, Rusty Pickle, Heartland Paper, SEI, Scenic Route, PaperCrafts, Die Cuts with a View (DCWV), Bo Bunny, Close to My Heart, Fancy Pants, My Minds Eye, Cosmo Cricket,  (and a couple I held back on purpose!)  

I will say this, Dawn's philosphy is you can sleep when you're dead!

She has people coming in, she has us out a lot! 

We are going to have fun.

Utah Info

I have opened Utah up for deposit.  This deposit is $150.00 and is only refundable if someone signs up in your place.  This is to secure the lodge.   To place your deposit go to www.hilltopmemories.com  click on shopping then on crops. 

The lodge is located south east of Salt Lake City.  So far our travels will take us to Logan and Lindon. 

More to come later,    and keep Dawn's mom in your thoughts and prayers as she continues her battle against uterine cancer.

Utah update

Dawn emailed me to tell me some great news!  2 vendors that she contacted has said yes to us coming to visit their facilities.  One said (cut and paste)

" We would love for you to come to our offices for a tour and a goodie bag! Depending on the time of when you come we will also be able to either teach a class or give you a peek of what is coming out next! "

The other one said.. ____would offer you a group tour of our facility as well as share sneak peeks of upcoming collections.  Just send me an email in May 2010 for a reminder.

Now these are 2 very large companies and I think we will enjoy them very much!

A bit more new stuff

There are some new kits that just came in the last couple days.  The Teresa Collins Friendship Accordian Album is here.  It is with the same papers that the Friendship Album we made in her class at Ruban Rouge.  It is a great album and I personally loved the papers.  The blue, black and white is a very nice change.  Teresa Collins is a very simple, classy designer in my opinion anyway.  You look at the albums and love it and then realize she uses very little.  Just paper, some inking, and a bit of bling.  It sure works and comes together great.

Also in is the other BoBunny Christmas Album that didn't get here in time for FGT crop.  This is Tis the Season and it is a card holder.  I love the paper.  I couldn't decide which Christmas line I wanted to carry this year and this one won.  The papers and embellishments are up in the store.

Nothing new on Utah yet.  We basically need to make sure the dates are in stone before much else can be decided.  Dawn is still doing some behind the scenes leg work and early prep work for us.  She is terrific.  In another life she was an Event Planner.  Thanks Dawn! 

Utah

I talked to the rental company in Utah about our Lodge.  I cannot get a rate because they won't be available for June of next year until next month.  Or a month and a half she said.  But I reserved our dates anyway.  I am not locked into these dates but they are ours if the rates come back into line with what Dawn and I have figured will be a good rate to budget in. 

June 9th 2010,  Wed.  and check out Monday June 14th.
